Your Burger Mix
For this baby you’ll need minced beef with a high fat content. Try a 60-40 beef shoulder mix – that’s going to be JUICY.
Fire up your grill! If you own either a flat-top grill, or a cast iron skillet, you can use that to give the patties an even sear. This means more of the juices will be sealed inside. We’re aiming for the juiciest burger here, every bit counts!
Form 2 patties and season them lightly with salt and pepper. Then throw them onto the flat top grill, and enjoy the sizzling sound for a few seconds (yes, this is essential).
Give the buns a quick toast too – again, you want that crusty barrier to trap the juices.
Flip your patties, and place a slice of Monterey Jack cheese on top of each. Let the cheese melt and encompass the patty.
Assembling Your Burger
Move the patties off the grill, and cook some onion and mushrooms in their fat. Cook until the onions become translucent, and the mushrooms until lightly brown.
Time to assemble the juiciest grilled burger on the planet! Spread a healthy amount of mayo on the bottom bun, and place a leaf of lettuce on top to hold the 2 patties – one on top of the other.
Top with the onions and mushrooms. Place a tomato slice on top of everything. Spread some ketchup, mustard, and/or BBQ sauce on the top bun, and you’re good to go!
