- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 cup honey
- 4 tbsp brown sugar

- 2 tsp cayenne pepper (Add more for medium or hot)
- 2 limes (juiced)
- 2 tablespoons butter (Salted)
Guinness BBQ Sauce Recipe
Following this guide will result in a medium-hot sauce. If you want either a mild or a very hot sauce, adjust the ingredients accordingly.
Dice the onion into small pieces. In a small bowl mix the tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce, then squeeze two limes into the same bowl.
In a different bowl mix the brown sugar and cayenne pepper.
Dice the garlic. Measure out the honey and ketchup into separate containers.
Moving over to the stove, melt two tablespoons of butter into a cooking pot. Sauté the diced onion until it is clear (should take a few minutes).
When that step is done, add the beer and all of the other ingredients. Stir and bring it to a boil, then lower the temperature and allow it to simmer for 30-45 minutes to mix the flavors and thicken the sauce. Put the lid on the pan, but leave it partly uncovered, so you avoid splattering but still allow the moisture to evaporate and escape.
About 30 minutes into the simmering you can get a taste, and adjust the cayenne pepper if you want to kick it up a notch.
When ready, let the Guinness BBQ sauce cool down and bottle it, or apply it on your BBQ meat right away!
