It’s time for home-made pizza. Step one, making the dough! Follow this grilled pizza dough recipe and be amazed by the results – then watch your guests being amazed as well.
- ½ cup lukewarm water
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1½ lbs. (~5 cups) bread flour
- 2 teaspoons salt (10 ml)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1¼ cups water
Grilled Pizza Dough Recipe From Scratch
In a small bowl, mix the yeast, lukewarm water, sugar and let them rest until its all foamed out (should take about 10 minutes).
Add the yeast mix to the flour, then also add olive oil, kosher salt, and 1¼ cups of water. Mix until it looks uniform, then knead the dough. If it is too sticky, you can add some more flour. Again, knead until it feels uniform.
Let the dough rise in a covered bowl (30 minutes to 1 hour).
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Shape the parts in to balls without pushing the air out. Then press and stretch each ball into a pizza base.
