Beer Can Chicken Recipe (Low and Slow)
Step one is mixing the dry rub ingredients. Mix them in a bowl or deep plate, or put everything in a closed container and shake well for a minute to make sure the rub mix is uniform.
Step two: clean the chicken and slather it with olive oil. On top of acting as “glue” for the dry rub, it will also add to the flavor. apply the dry rub liberally to cover the entire bird.
Next, get a can of beer and empty (or drink!) ¼ of the beer. Place the can inside the chicken’s cavity, so that the chicken can stand upright on the can. Using tooth pics position the wings in a “pin-up” pose.
Time to smoke that bird! Position the beer can chicken on your smoker and smoke at 350°F for about 1 hour. When the chicken is ready, remove it from the pit using heat resistant silivone gloves and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
