Here’s a killer BBQ honey mustard sauce, to use with poultry, ham, as a glaze, as a dip, or any way you want it. Add to this recipe and make it your own, but the one thing you can’t change is the mouthwatering flavor boost you’ll get from this secret sauce…
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Dijon Mustard
- 1/3 Cup Honey
- 1/3 Cup Apple Juice
- 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
BBQ Honey Mustard Sauce Recipe
First up, place a large enough pot over medium heat. If you have a cast iron one, you could even do this on the grill, next to whatever you are cooking at the time!
Throw in the honey and let it melt – make sure the heat isn’t enough to start burning the sugar later.
Once the honey is melting, throw in the mustard and start stirring. After about 30 seconds, add the brown sugar, apple juice and vinegar (one by one).
Grab a whisk and stir everything together thoroughly.
Now you want to let the sauce sit on the heat for a while, to reduce it to about one fourth (1/4) of its original volume. This will let it thicken and acquire the sauce-like consistency you want.
And that’s how you make a killer BBQ sauce, to use with poultry, ham, as a glaze, as a dip, or any way you want it. Feel free to add to this recipe and make it your own.
