You probably already know how to grill up some great chicken, so this spicy BBQ chicken marinade will only enhance your BBQ chicken game and make the mouths those you’re feeding water for more…
- 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Cup freshly squeezed Lemon Juice
- 1 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Turmeric
- 2 Tbsp Paprika
- 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
- 5-6 minced Garlic Cloves
- 2 Tbsp Chili Oil
- 2 Tbsp freshly chopped Serrano Pepper
Finger-Licking Spicy BBQ Chicken Marinade Recipe
First things first: mix all of the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl or pan. The quantities listed here are enough for 1 portioned chicken, or 2 leg quarters, 2 half breasts and 2 wings. A few shallow slits have been cut into each portion, to allow the marinade to work on the inside too.
Place the chicken inside the spicy BBQ chicken marinade, or combine both in a zip lock bag. Either way, make sure the marinade covers all of the chicken, before placing it in the refrigerator for 4 hours to overnight. Turn the chicken over at least once during the process to ensure the flavors spread everywhere.
When the marinating is done, drain the liquids out of the container (you can keep the liquid and use it to baste the chicken, but the cook is going to be very quick and there is no real need to).
Have your grill burning hot, and place the chicken portions over direct heat. Cook until done (check by color of meat close to the bone).
Garnish with cilantro and serve in your favorite way.
