A few hours before you start cooking, soak a cedar plank in water for a few hours (or more, depending on how many eggs you are planning to make).

Cook the egg to your preferred doneness. Cook 4 minutes for soft, 6 minutes for medium or 8 minutes for hard. The one seen in the video was cooked for 4 minutes. When done, cool the egg down completely and peel.

Take the casing off of the sausage, so you are left with only the sausage meat filling. Make a patty out of the filling, and wrap the sausage filling around the egg. Do this very carefully if your egg is cooked soft or medium, to avoid bursting it. Wrap bacon slices around everything.

Preheat your smoker to 400°F. Place the wrapped egg on the cedar plank and the plank over direct heat. Smoke for 20 minutes.

  1. “Take the filling off of the sausage, so you are left with only the stuffing.” What?

“Make a patty out of the filling, and wrap the egg around it.” Again, what?

Wondering if you’re smoking more than meat… Does anybody read this stuff before it’s posted?
