You’ve heard of bacon bombs, but have you ever heard of grilled stuffed potato bombs? Follow along through this masterful cook that’ll take a regular old potato and turn it in to a smoky spud of perfection…
What you will need:
- Russet potatoes
- Butter
- Sour Cream
- Spring onions
Suffings
- Ham
- Sliced Turkey
- Prosciutto
- Corned Beef
- Italian sausage
- Breakfast sausage
- Smoked German sausage
- Hot Dogs
- Cooked Bacon
- Habanero cheese
- Cheddar cheese
- Cheddar Cheese
- Garlic
Grilled Stuffed Potato Bombs Recipe
Use an apple corer to remove the core of each potato. Keep the cores for later use.
Fill the cavity with your favorite stuffings. Some ideas are listed in the ingredients above, but you can use just about anything! Fill up about 3/4 of each cavity, then use a piece of the core to plug each end.
Wrap a slice of bacon around the outside of each potato. You can also season each bacon wrapped potato if you want.
Next up, wrap the stuffed potatoes in aluminium foil.
In the meantime, have your grill heat up to 375-400ºF. When it’s up to temp, place the foiled potato bombs on the heat, and close the lid. Cook for about 1 hour (maybe a bit longer – check for doneness with a toothpick).
About halfway through the cook, flip the potatoes over to ensure they cook even.
You can serve these in a variety of ways: we suggest chopping up some spring onion, mixing it with sour cream and garnering the grilled stuffed potato bombs with it.
