Rib Rub Ingredients:
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 2 Tbsp salt-pepper-garlic (SPG) spice
- 1 tsp Celery Seed
- 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 Tbsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Oregano
Cajun Glazed Smoked Baby Back Ribs
Step one: mixing the spices. Place the chili powder, SPG, celery seed, brown sugar, cumin, paprika and oregano in a small bowl and mix well. This quantity should be enough for at least 2-3 slabs of baby backs.
Step two, preparing the ribs. It is important that you have prepared the rib racks before applying the rub. If you do not know how, check our guide on how to prepare ribs here. Once the ribs are ready, proceed to apply the rub to the meat side only.
Next, preheat your smoker to 230° and place the ribs on the pit. Close the lid and monitor the temperature. Mist every 1 hour to prevent them from drying.
Final step: After 3 to 3.5 hours, glaze the meat with a Cajun sauce of your preference (used in video: Frog Bone Cajun Sauce). After applying the sauce close the lid, and sauce again after 15 minutes have passed. Repeat until ribs are done.
